Trent
Bridge Rotary Club President David Palmer hands over a donation
cheque for £5,000 to Andy Shields, Trent Regional Fundraising
Manager for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, from part of the proceeds
of the Rotary Clubs' recent Charity Bonfire & Fireworks
Event , held at Wilford Village. |

Roger Steel the Event Organiser stated that "this
years event was the biggest & best ever, and I would express
the Rotary Clubs gratitude for the tremendous public support, when
almost 5,000 people attended; not forgetting the numerous volunteers
from our local community organisations, who helped to make this our
most successful event ever.
With the recent poignant news that The Chancellor's
son has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, it is encouraging to
note that our contribution towards funding for further research,
will next year lead to clinical trials, in furtherance of the hope
that this will lead to the elimination of the life threatening element
of this condition, which all Cystic Fibrosis parents crave for.
We were pleased to also welcome Kerry Colebrook,
from Wollaton, a mother with two children suffering with Cystic Fibrosis.
Kerry gave a heartfelt response, in thanking the Rotarians, and main
sponsor C-Mec Demolition, for all their hard work involved in achieving
this generous donation to Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Kerry truly deserved
her hug, to conclude the evening."
Thank you once again everyone.
